Poetry is the perfume of the soul: Otep

I’d put a new song called "J'ai Fait Une Promesse" by Anathema for this week at the top of main page. It’s a beautiful song. I hope you like it.

The following is "Thots" by Otep. It’s kind of poetry. I hope you feel it.

I’ll post Otep’s song next week.

eyeOS

I’ve just created an eyeOS account and playing with it. So, this is the OS in your browser. It has virtual word processor, calendar, file manager, messenger, browser and other applications like mp3 player and games. I uploaded an mp3 into my account folder and play it with its player. Viola! It works gr8. You can change wallpaper of your own. There are also themes you can select too.

Two years ago, people were talking that Google is planning to make something like this. I think, they must have been thinking to make one, coz, they just bought Writely. (so, they didn’t make one. Bought one. :D)

But eyeOS is so cool that it is open source and free to download (licensed under the GNU GPL). If you want, you can download and run it on your own server.

BTW, I’ve updated previous post. pls check!!!!

EyeOS
Update

There are some more new comers for online web based word processor. ajaxWrite lets you write Ms Word compactable file right from your browser. Unlike Writely, you don't need to sign up at all. It allows you to save your file as doc, rtf, txt, and pdf. And there is one more site called ZohoWriter, which works in similar way. OMG!!! there is a huge competition in AJAX field. read more in this article.

PC in your pocket

No. I’m not going to talk about UMPC. That little tablet is cool but expensive. :-).

So, let’s try something smaller and inexpensive. That’s “portable software” + “USB drive”.
Portable software’s are software, which doesn’t need to be installed. I mean, you click on the exe file and program works right away. Whenever I reinstall windows, it is accompanied by the works of installing old programs again. So, I keep all portable programs in a folder to use after installing fresh windows.

The point is that, if you put these programs in a USB drive, you can plug it into any computer and use them without installing on that PC. The best part of it is FireFox browser. You know, when you surf Internet on someone else PC, you left all your footprints there. So just use your own copy of portable Firefox from your USB drive and leave that PC as if untouched.

Actually, there are many programs with installer, which can be regarded as portable. You just take a copy of installed folder and use it without installing later. In that case, Photoshop is portable; Opera is portable and many other more. Try it yourself!!! ;-)

Oh, we are still using OS of host PC. Why don’t we run our own OS. There are lots of Live CD Linux distros. (I love Knoppix!!!) So insert your live CD and run that machine on the fly. DSL is damn small that it fits in 64 MB USB flash drive.

Note:
USB drives are USB flash drive, USB Hard Disk drive (including mp3 players with HD), USB zip drive, etc.

I forgot to check wikipedia.
So, here we go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_portable_applications  (thanks gHack.)

Linux screensaver for Windows

I just tested QEMU-Puppy (Linux), which is launched inside windows. Everything works automatically with QEMU and there is nothing to handle UNIX things. (But, I think it’s not as good as KNOPPIX. Running an OS inside OS is too much load for CPU and RAM.) Here is how to boot from USB Flash drive. (I haven't tried it yet.)

March 13

On 1988 March 13, this day, special police forces (lone htane) shot down the students from YIT, killing Ko Phone Maw and Ko Soe Naing. This event continued as students’ demonstration on March 16, which was cracked down by the troops horribly and later that event was known as Red Bridge massacre. That day, demonstrating students were surrounded and hit with truncheon to death by troops. Again, arrested students died due to suffocation inside prison trucks. (Later the BSPP gov confessed the deaths in prison trucks when U Aung Gyi’s open letters came out.)

These events sparked the revolution of students against dictator BSPP ( မဆလ).

The following is article written by U Aung Din, "letter to Moe Makha". Read the complete article @ Moe Makha.

List of webproxies

My favorite tech blog gHacks has a huge list of webproxies. I think people in Myanmar need proxy servers more than anyone in the world. If you are going to Myanmar, take these links with you.

You fall in love quickly and easily. And very often.

Just for fun, I took a few tests at blogthings today. ;)
How You Are In Love
You fall in love quickly and easily. And very often.

You give completely and unconditionally in relationships.

You tend to get very attached when you're with someone. You want to see your love all the time.

You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change.

You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard.

Oops!!!! I fall in love quickly and easily. And very often.!?!?!?!

You Are a Natural Flirt
Believe it or not, you're a really effective flirt. And you're so good, you hardly notice that you're flirting. Your attitude and confidence make you a natural flirt. And the fact that you don't know it is just that more attractive!

yay!!! who wanna flirt with me. :D (may be the girl in that foto. hah.:))
