I watched Live 8 on TV yesterday all ten and half hours. (Occupying TV and disappointing my housemates. :)) It was great to watch that biggest simultaneous live concerts, biggest TV and Internet event and most important of all, the biggest movement urging world’s leaders to take action on poverty. I really admired all the people who made this event happen: all musicians, organizers and sponsors.
Started with U2 and Paul McCartney, Wow!!! U2 was great. Surprise was when Bob Geldof introduced Bill Gates. He will donate $691.6 million. After that Gates introduced Dido. The most touching moment was when Bob Geldof showed the video clip of children in Africa. After that he brought in the girl who was benefited from “Live Aid 85” and soon Madonna came in. Others I liked: Dido, REM, Bjork, Velvet Revolver, Shakira, Green Day, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, Bryan Adams, and Pink Floyd. O yeah! Dido was gorgeous at Live 8. Our TV channel missed out Def Leppard, Sarah McLachlan and Deep Purple I like.
